I installed the free version of this app to try out on my store for bikepacking gear as I had a bunch of new images to upload. Initially they were very helpful through the live chat, giving me tips on how to set up the app and were very responsive (responded within 30 minutes) when the tool was not giving accurate results. In the end they recommended I upgrade to the premium version as this has an option to input custom commands. I upgraded to the premium version as they suggested and found the custom commands did not help, and there is no longer a live chat option available for me to ask for help. I sent an email over 24 hours ago and have not heard anything back. Fairly disappointing.

Just finished my first pass, love the results. having tried a few other apps, this one is generating the most context-aware and usable alt text by miles. The support team were also prompt, and helpful.!

Very useful app. I was struggling to find the time to generate good quality alt texts on all my images. I found this app and thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed. Super simple to use. Very effective and much better quality alt texts than I imagined. I would definitely recommend this product.

As a one-woman independent fashion label, I simply don't have the time to write alt texts for hundreds of product images manually. SEO Hero has been a real time-saver — the AI actually describes the products well, picking up fabric texture, details and construction rather than just writing something generic. The before/after preview lets you check quality before applying, which I appreciated. Finally a tool that helps a small business move forward without needing a whole team behind it.

I'm early into using this, but it seems like a GREAT starter place for writing strong SEO alt text for images. (I have a few hundred images on my site and haven't consistently written alt text for them... it's been on my to do list for a while but it keeps overwhelming me). My business mentor suggested I check this out. You need to share some inputs (brand voice, key products, search terms, etc.)-- candidly, I used AI to help me with this. But once it was input-- the results were very strong. I'm excited to be able to have this run in the background and make my site more accessible without constant manual editing on my end. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the free version limits you to 50 images and some of the UI is less intuitive-- I had to use their chat to figure out how to do a couple things. But on the plus side, their contact center was SUPER responsive and helpful. Overall, I'd recommend.

Man I am beyond impressed with how easy the setup wizard was — it walked me through everything step by step: brand keywords, SEO terms, and tone in no time didn't take long at all. The AI-generated alt text quality is genuinely good and relevant to my niche (sensory toys for autism/ADHD). Used my 50 free credits on my main product images and the descriptions were descriptive and keyword-rich right out of the box. Great app for GMC compliance and SEO Highly Recommended!

I have used other SEO tools that have alt-text generation as part of their package. And have compared alttext.ai to this tool, SEO HERO. After using this app to generate natural sounding alttext I have come to the conclusion this is one of the best out there, if not the best one yet. Basic Plan(available to all plans): 1. This tool generates alt text like natural sounding language, not keyword-stuff and generic sounding using templates. 2. Accurately describes image and gives a good context clues even a blind person can understand it with near accuracy 3. Customize the brand voice using 2 preset settings at a time, but worry not there are at least a dozen to choose from. On the premium plan: 4. Customize how the alt text is written based on your prompt, this is crucial if you want your alt text to sound like a magazine catalog or a technical spec document 5. If the context you want can't be found in your customer-facing data like Title, description and tags, you can use custom metafields as context, which i have read that alt text ai can handle but on a higher cost per image Overall, this is a good app for it's price, but there are some minor quirks but they aren't deal breakers, they are just UI/UX issues 6. For SEO Context: adding seo keywords means clicking outside of the field instead of pressing enter which isn't intuitive, this can be quite a hassle if you are typing the SEO keywords because you need to move the mouse pointer and click away which stops your typing momentum 7. For Product Metafield: The metafield search input field disappears after entering a search term without results, so you need to click to another section and return to refresh and make the input field appear again. A standard red text that says "not found" or similar will suffice and speed up configuration while still keeping the input field visible VERDICT: Would recommend this tool to anyone serious about optimizing their alt text game.
