Theme Updater & Backups has made managing Shopify theme updates much easier. Updating a customized theme can be stressful, especially when you have custom code, app integrations, and other changes that you don't want to lose. This app makes the process much more manageable by helping preserve customizations while moving to the latest theme version.
Excellent and Extremely Reliable! Updating a Shopify theme can be tedious, complicated, and risky, especially with a customized website. Theme Updater & Backups makes the entire process incredibly easy, safe, and reliable. The backup feature provides great peace of mind, and the update process is simple and secure. A must-have app for any Shopify store owner who wants to keep their theme updated without the stress or fear of breaking their website!
We’re using the Combine theme. We’ve made a lot of code improvements. We needed to update our theme to version 4.0.0 without losing any code blocks. We completed the update using Theme Updater. There were just a few minor issues left to sort out. Myles from the support team helped us with this very quickly. We were very pleased with both the application and the support team.
Usually, we've had no issues in updating the Turbo theme. But this version from 9.6 to 10 -- went haywire. AI allegedly handled all but one of the customizations in upgrading the theme, but our opening slide show was completely screwed up. For now, we've left v9.6 in place. It's frustrating having had / worked with this theme for years without needing to hire an expert -- apparently, now we will have to? Disappointing. BUT.... 2 days later, OOTS support responded quickly to our ticket, stepped in and fixed the issue. Not only did they fix it, they followed up to be sure that the site is working properly. Today, we published the 10 version. Thanks, OOTS!
Theme Updater has made updating on Shopify so much easier. Please remember to be very careful adding 3rd party apps to your store so the update can go smoothly and you spend your time working on marketing. Be sure to review Out of the Sandbox premium theme sections so your system uses known compatible apps.
I have a lot of custom items on my website that make theme updates tricky. I used to always have to put back in all the custom items which was very difficult and time consuming. This app makes updating themes a piece of cake. Each update we have done using this has worked smoothly.
