No one has rated this plugin on WordPress.org yet. That is a statement about the ratings page, not about the plugin — plenty of well-kept plugins never collect them.
Pinora Address Autofill enhances address forms by automatically filling the State and City fields as soon as a valid 6-digit Indian PIN code is entered. No more manual typing, no more typos — just instant, accurate address data.
Why choose this plugin?
- Blazing fast — local data built in. All 19,500+ Indian PIN codes are pre-loaded inside the plugin. Lookups complete in under 1 millisecond with zero external API calls.
- No API dependency. No monthly quotas, no rate limits, no service outages. Your checkout page works even when third-party APIs are down.
- WooCommerce ready. Plug-and-play with WooCommerce billing and shipping address forms on both Checkout and My Account pages.
- Smart city detection. Uses district-level data with intelligent fallback logic, delivering accurate city names — not raw postal division codes.
- Read-only State & City fields. Once auto-filled, State and City are locked to prevent accidental edits, keeping your address data consistent.
- Lightweight & developer friendly. Well-structured code with filters for customizing PIN code selectors, city/state field mappings, and more.
How it works:
- Customer types a 6-digit Indian PIN code in the postcode field.
- After the configured number of digits (default: 3), the plugin triggers a lookup.
- State and City fields are instantly populated from the built-in local index.
- If the PIN code is not in the local index, the plugin falls back to the postalpincode.in API with WP Transient caching as a safety net.
External Services
This plugin may connect to the postalpincode.in API as a fallback when a PIN code is not found in the built-in local index (which covers 19,500+ PIN codes).
What the service is: postalpincode.in is a free, community-maintained public directory of Indian postal PIN code data. It mirrors publicly available India Post pincode information. The service is stateless — it has no user accounts, no cookies, and collects no personal data.
What data is sent: Only the 6-digit PIN code entered by the user, passed as a URL path parameter. No personal data (name, email, address, IP, browser fingerprint, etc.) is ever transmitted.
When it is sent: Only when the local lookup returns no result and the user has typed a valid 6-digit PIN code.
Service provider: postalpincode.in
- Service URL: https://api.postalpincode.in/
- Terms of Service: This service does not publish a formal Terms of Service page (it is a public data API, not a commercial platform).
- Privacy Policy: This service does not publish a formal Privacy Policy page, as it is stateless and does not collect or store any user information. The only data it receives is the PIN code number embedded in the request URL.
If you require guaranteed zero external calls, disable the API fallback by commenting out the fetch_from_external_api() call in includes/class-pin-code-api.php.
Yes. By default the plugin targets WooCommerce selectors (#billing_postcode, #billing_city, etc.), but you can customize the selectors using filters — see the developer hooks in pin-code-autocomplete.php.
No. This plugin is specifically built for the Indian 6-digit PIN code system with pre-loaded India Post data.
An inline error message appears below the postcode field, and the State/City fields remain editable for manual entry.
No. Nearly all lookups are served from the built-in local pincode index. The postalpincode.in API is only used as a last-resort fallback for PIN codes not in the local database.
Yes. Replace data/pincodes.csv with an updated India Post dataset and run the build script (scripts/build_pincode_index.py) to regenerate the index.
