4 ratingsMultiPOS is a free WooCommerce POS plugin for shops that sell online and in person. It adds a point of sale system to your own WordPress site and turns any browser into a cash register at a URL you choose, such as yoursite.com/pos. There is no app to download and no separate POS account to sign up for.
A cashier opens that URL, logs in, and lands on the sales screen. From there they search products, scan a barcode, add a customer, apply a coupon, take payment, and print a receipt. The sale is saved as a real WooCommerce order, so your stock, taxes, coupons, customer records, and order list keep working the way they already do.
The free version covers a first POS setup end to end: one outlet, unlimited cashiers, WooCommerce stock, barcode scanning and label printing, receipt printing, customer management, and a POS dashboard. It suits small retail counters, grocery and convenience shops, pickup desks, market stalls, pop-up shops, and cafes that want in-person sales recorded inside WooCommerce instead of a separate till.
No monthly fee, no external POS account, and no store data leaving your site.

Free WooCommerce POS features in detail
Point of sale terminal on your own site
The POS terminal is a single sales screen built for a busy counter.
- Open the register from a custom URL such as
/pos - Administrators, shop managers, and POS cashiers can all get in
- Search the WooCommerce catalogue by title, ID, SKU, or barcode
- Add products by tapping a card or by scanning a barcode
- WooCommerce prices, taxes, and coupons apply exactly as they do online
- Hold an unfinished cart and pick it up again later
Barcode scanning and barcode label printing
Barcodes work in both directions: scanning items at the till, and printing labels for the shelf.
- Choose product ID or SKU as the barcode source
- Print barcode labels from the admin product barcode screen
- Tick several products and print all their labels in one go, with a quantity per product
- Scan or type a barcode value at the POS to drop the product into the cart
Printing the store name, product name, SKU, and price next to the barcode is a Pro feature. You can see those options, marked Pro, under Configuration > Printer.
Any keyboard-wedge barcode scanner works, which covers most USB and Bluetooth scanners. The scanner simply types the code into the barcode box, so there is nothing extra to install.
POS sales saved as WooCommerce orders
In-person sales land in WooCommerce, not in a separate ledger.
- Every POS sale creates a real WooCommerce order
- Set the initial order status for POS orders
- Choose whether WooCommerce order emails go out after POS checkout
- Review POS orders from the MultiPOS admin orders screen, with the cashier’s photo, item counts, and refunds on each order
- Filter POS orders by cashier and by date
- Stock is checked against WooCommerce before the order is created
Cashier logins without WordPress admin access
MultiPOS adds a dedicated POS Cashier role.
- Add as many cashiers as you need, at no cost
- Add and edit cashiers on their own MultiPOS screen, with today’s sales, the last 30 days, and their last sale beside the form
- Administrators and shop managers can use the POS too when they need to
- Cashiers edit their own basic profile from the POS settings tab
- Cashiers can review recent orders and the day’s cash movement from inside the POS
- Turn “remember me” and “forgot password” on or off for the POS login screen
Outlet setup for a retail counter or cafe
An outlet is the physical place where the selling happens.
- One active outlet in the free version
- Choose grocery/retail mode or restaurant/cafe mode
- Pick which payment methods are available at that outlet
- Mark the outlet active or inactive to open or close the register
Restaurant and cafe mode adds a tables tab in the POS, so an order can be attached to a dining table you defined in the settings.
Payment methods and cash handling
The free version ships with Cash and lets you name the rest.
- Cash payment with tendered amount and automatic change
- Add your own payment method labels, for example Card, UPI, or Bank Transfer
- Enable or disable each method, and choose which ones the outlet uses
Splitting a single order across several payment methods and cash drawer tracking are Pro features.
Customers and coupons at the counter
Cashiers handle customer records without leaving the sales screen.
- Search existing WooCommerce customers
- Add a new customer in the middle of a sale
- Set a default guest account for walk-in sales
- Apply and validate WooCommerce coupon codes at POS checkout
Receipt printing and printer sizing
The free version ships one receipt template, translatable through your normal WordPress translation files.
- A clean receipt layout: store header, order details, a tidy item table, and a bold total
- Preview the receipt at real size on 58 mm, 80 mm, or A4 paper, zoom in, and print a test page
- Set receipt roll width, height, and margin to match your thermal printer
Composing your own receipt layouts and managing more than one template are Pro features. Barcode label details are also Pro.
POS dashboard and transaction log
The admin dashboard answers the question “how did we do today”.
- Summary cards for total orders, revenue, cashiers, and top payment method
- Revenue chart with date range filters
- Payment method breakdown next to recent POS orders
- Transaction list showing outlet, cashier, method, amount, and date
- Cashiers list with each cashier’s photo, last 30 days of sales, and their last sale
- Outlet screen with an At a Glance card for today’s and the last 30 days of sales
Branding the POS login screen
Small settings that make the till look like your shop.
- Setup wizard on first activation
- Change the POS login heading, subtitle, footer, and button label
- Upload your own logo for POS screens and receipts
- Set login screen background, card, and text colours
- Change POS colours, font family, base font size, and corner radius

External services
This plugin relies on the following third-party services provided by DevDiggers (https://devdiggers.com). These connections only happen inside the WordPress admin area and are described below so you know exactly what is sent, why, and when.
1. DevDiggers extensions directory
- What it is: A read-only API on devdiggers.com that returns the public list of DevDiggers WooCommerce extensions.
- What it is used for: To display available DevDiggers extensions on the plugin’s “Extensions” admin page.
- When data is sent: Only when a logged-in administrator opens the “Extensions” admin page. The response is cached for 24 hours, so the request is not repeated on every page load.
- What data is sent: A standard outbound HTTP request only (your server’s IP address and a plugin user-agent string, as with any web request). No personal data and no store data are sent.
- Endpoint: https://devdiggers.com/wp-json/ddwcs/v1/plugins
2. Newsletter subscription (optional)
- What it is: A contact/newsletter endpoint on devdiggers.com.
- What it is used for: To add your email address to the DevDiggers newsletter, only if you explicitly choose to subscribe.
- When data is sent: Only when an administrator submits the optional newsletter form in the plugin dashboard. Nothing is sent automatically.
- What data is sent: The email address you enter and your site URL.

A note from the founder
Hi, I am Yash Kapoor, founder of DevDiggers. Store owners kept running a cloud POS at the counter and WooCommerce online with two stock counts that never agreed. I built this plugin so the counter and the website share one store. My team keeps it updated for every new WooCommerce release, and the developers who wrote it answer the support forum.

Yes. The free version runs a full counter: one outlet, unlimited cashiers, barcode scanning, barcode label printing, receipt printing, customers, coupons, cash payment, and the POS dashboard. There is no trial period and nothing stops working after a while. Pro adds multiple outlets, split payments, restaurant kitchen tools, and detailed reports.
Yes. Each sale creates a real WooCommerce order. MultiPOS attaches the outlet, cashier, payment method, and tendered amount, but the order lives in WooCommerce and behaves like any other order.
A computer or tablet with a browser, and your existing WooCommerce products. WordPress 6.0 or newer, WooCommerce 9.5 or newer, and PHP 7.4 or newer.
No. MultiPOS runs on your WordPress site and records sales straight into WooCommerce, so there is no third-party POS account and no per-sale fee from the plugin. The free version does not connect to card readers. If you take card payments on a separate terminal, add a payment method label such as Card so the order records how the customer paid.
No, but it speeds things up. Any keyboard-wedge USB or Bluetooth scanner works, because the scanner just types the barcode into the POS barcode box. You can also type or paste the value by hand.
Yes. The admin barcode screen prints labels and lets you set page size, barcode height, margins, spacing, and orientation. Free uses the product ID or SKU as the barcode value and prints the barcode on its own. Assigning your own barcode value per product, and printing the product name, SKU, and price on the label, are Pro features.
Yes. Receipts print from the browser after checkout, and you can set the roll width, height, and margin to match your printer. The free version ships one translatable receipt template. Designing your own templates is a Pro feature.
Cash is included, with tendered amount and change. You can also add your own payment method labels in MultiPOS > Configuration > Payments, for example Card or UPI, and choose which ones the outlet offers. Splitting one order across several methods is a Pro feature.
As many as you like. The free version creates a POS Cashier role and does not limit how many users you assign to it. Administrators and shop managers can also use the POS. Assigning different cashiers to different outlets needs Pro, because the free version runs one outlet.
The free version supports one active outlet. MultiPOS Pro adds unlimited outlets for stores with more than one branch or sales location.
Yes. The POS reads WooCommerce stock and checks availability before creating the order. Keeping separate stock per outlet is a Pro feature.
The free version handles simple WooCommerce products. Variable products and more advanced product workflows are handled in Pro.
No. The free version needs a connection to your site. Offline order handling with later sync is a Pro feature.
Yes. The POS screen is a web page, so it runs in the browser on a tablet, laptop, or desktop. Installing it as a Progressive Web App with your own icon and colours is a Pro feature.
Yes. Cashiers can search, add, edit, and delete customers from the POS screen, and the records save as normal WooCommerce customers. You can also set a guest account for walk-in sales.
Yes. WooCommerce coupon codes can be entered and validated during POS checkout.
Yes. Fast product search, barcode scanning, cash payment with change, and receipt printing cover a typical grocery counter. Choose grocery/retail mode on the outlet.
Restaurant/cafe mode adds a tables tab in the POS, and the table is saved with the order. Kitchen display screens and advanced order routing are Pro features.
Hold the cart, serve the next person, and open the held cart again when they come back.
Go to MultiPOS > Configuration > General and update the POS terminal URL path. If the page does not load afterwards, save your permalinks once from Settings > Permalinks.
No. Cashiers log in on the POS screen itself and never see the WordPress dashboard.
Yes. The plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.
