I have had non-stop trouble with Google Merchant. I have a very long-running YT channel (16 years) and 5 major websites. I loaded every possible disclaimer, return policy, and anything else Google demanded. It worked fine for a while and then...poof. Gone. "Your Google Merchant account is suspended for TOS..." So I dig around, add more return policies etc in every website possible. It works for a few weeks and then...poof. 60+ hours wasted. I decided to terminate my Google Merchant account. What a waste of time. But wait...there's more. To top it off, Google now says my Google Ads account is suspended because my Google Merchant (GM) account is suspended. I jump through hoops to tell Google that I deleted my GM account. My Google Ads account is re-instated...for about 3 weeks. Then the bot says "Suspended..." So I do this absurd cycle for 6 freakin months. Google cannot/will not fix this. They won't tell me EXACTLY what is wrong with my GM account. So, in the end, I gave this a "Google is a horrible, negligent business 'partner'" rating. Endless emails to Google are responded with robot/AI responses. If there's a human behind it, it's impossible to tell. "Just look at our TOS and comply...." Lol. I've seen $20M businesses have their GM accounts suspended with the same problems. FYI - I run multiple businesses, YT channels, etc. and this was by far the worst experience. Hope it works better for you, YMMV, best of luck.
It is quite useful to connect Google & YouTube to get better data and therefore better decision-making to adjust the budget for ads and where to focus your financial resources.
During setup, the final 'Complete' button was hidden beneath an optional question, so I didn't realize the setup wasn't finished. The button should be more visible or the flow should make it clearer that there's a required action after the optional step."
The Google Customer Reviews integration is extremely frustrating and appears undercooked for Shopify’s current checkout architecture. The “Google Customer Reviews” opt-in block can be added to the Thank You page, but the block itself instructs merchants to install a “Google survey extension” — which does not appear to exist anywhere in the Shopify App Store or inside the Google & YouTube app. The integration also appears to struggle with Merchant Center parent/child account structures. Stores using a Merchant Center MCA with sub-accounts may find that the app connects ambiguously or fails to render the correct Customer Reviews opt-in, even where the correct sub-account has Google Customer Reviews enabled. Most concerningly, Google’s own support response was to tell us to manually install Google Customer Reviews JavaScript on Shopify’s checkout Thank You page. That is not a practical answer: Shopify’s upgraded Thank You / Order Status pages do not allow arbitrary checkout scripts, which is precisely why this app block is supposed to exist. In short: the advertised Customer Reviews integration does not appear reliable, the instructions inside the block are unclear, and support seems to provide legacy script advice that is incompatible with modern Shopify checkout.

After getting the app connected it only added 19 items to our Google Merchant account, out of over 250. I have verified that all the items have the Google / YouTube sales channel enabled. This plugin doesn't work and show be removed from Shopify.

Terrible app. It syncs products with Google Merchant Center inconsistently and incorrectly. There is no way to trigger a manual update, and new issues keep appearing all the time. Very unreliable and frustrating to use.
